Sherlock in the restaurant. What Was that even. Slapstick much. I have a huge embarrassment squick. Also it was a bit out of character and so not fitting the friendship that they shared. Yes! As I said in my post, I had to watch it with the sound down, it was so embarrassing, and way OOC.
I think it would have made more sense if the reason Sherlock didn't tell John about being alive was because Moriarty had given orders to have John killed if he were alive and what was why he pretended to be dead. This way John not knowing and being almost the only one who didn't was awful. The touch on this in the Q&A. That his reactions needed to be real, and that he himself could be in danger if anyone found out. It's a shame it didn't translate better to the show itself.
The bomb situation. Why oh why did he do that to John. It wasn't even funny. I've come to accept that Sherlock is just a major arse - though in fairness he's never pretended to be anything else. Why everyone puts up with him is another question entirely though.
Well what boggles me is this.. were his reactions the only ones that need to be real? What about Mycroft, their parents and Molly. They all knew.
And yeah Sherlock was always an ass, i'm just bothered that it seems he does it out of laziness instead of not being able to help it. I dunno why it feels that way to me.
I liked it less than you. For the same reasons, but I think things just bothered me more.

THIS.
This way John not knowing and being almost the only one who didn't was aweful.
Yeah. And since the snipers were taken care of, there was no reason not to tell him. Since *dozens* of other people knew. I ranted about this a while.

Yeeeeeeah. Sherlock just seemed OOC to me about half the time in this episode.
There are parts of the episode that I liked, but they're overshadowed by my disappointment at Sherlock and at the way the Fall was resolved. So many elements of the episode seemed off that I really didn't like it. Instead of, say, loving it but having a few nitpicks about the way something was handled. It just didn't feel like a Sherlock episode to me. Not even mentioning the OOCness, things just weren't tight and
( ... )
I didn't feel like a Sherlock ep to me either. but I do think that was the feeling of a lack of a case and too much other stuff. The second ep also felt off in that regard.
I enjoyed it too! I love Mary so much! I hope Sherlock flashing "liar" when he looked at her means interesting backstory rather than something nefarious, though. I don't really trust the writers.
The bomb thing didn't bother me that much, mostly because Sherlock is mostly a douche. A sometimes likeable douche, sure, but if I don't consider him one, I can't watch the show, especially with Elementary being so good with a non-douche Sherlock.
It didn't seem to me that it was all that bad. More like that she was a normal layered person. At least I hope. And true he is a douche and he knows it. But too me that is too much and before this season seemed like he didn't quite have a choice in it and now it just seems like he is lazy. I don't know if I'm describing that well.
Sherlock gets himself in a lot of embarassing situations but I never had a problem with that before. But the first ep and even more so the second hit my embrassment squick SO hard, I actually had to fast forward/mute things. And that on SHERLOCK! Argh. I do agree on your likes and dislikes.

I'm also worried about what will happen to Mary.
