mmm... yummy! I always thought Guinness had a slight chocolate taste to it anyway. I bet those would be soo rich.

Since you mention both in here, did you know that Guinness beer started the Guinness book of world records? It kind of brings that anecdote about Grace Neill's bar and the recipe into a full circle... or something. :) (unless you already knew it, and that's what you meant by 'appropriately named'... ok, I'm shutting up)

p.s. I haven't forgotten the pineapple bean recipe! will post it soon...

i didn't know that! wow, that makes it even cooler. i like things that come full circle, so to speak.

ahhh, full circle bookstore... that was a cool place! is it still there? in 50 penn place? (or, "pig tower" as we used to call it when we were kids.)

Pig tower? heehee, I never heard that! Oh, full circle is still there, and still very cool!

also-- what is superfine sugar? At first I thought it was like powdered/confectioner's sugar, but I saw that listed also...

oh, hmm. well, maybe just a high quality granulated sugar? that would be my guess. it might not make a huge difference if you just went with whatever you've got. i wouldn;t use something big like can sugar, though.

Yummmmmmm! Love Guinness, have been to the brewery in Dublin, and didn't know you could bake with it. I will definitely be making this on St. Pattys!

that sounds like a food version of one of my favorite beers - Young's Double Chocolate Stout. Tastes like dark chocolate Guinness. So yummy!
