We (gf and I) loved Jupiter Ascending. We saw it in cinema and loved it, and I think we were alone in the sentiment - the whole room seemed mostly bewildered. Oh well. *Shrug* ;D
When it comes to Marvel, I liked Jessica Jones best because it was like a new season of Veronica Mars. DC - I only watch iZombie b/c yk, Veronica Mars feels (although the voiceover and MC's acting bugs me for some reason :/).
My reading this year when it comes to genre was mostly all the oldies by Kate Elliott. (I wish I could follow you on goodreads, I'm obsessive like that...)
What did you think of The Magicians (pilot & books)? I've never read (though I've read ABOUT it) and it sounds a bit... annoying ;)
JA - I think they put so many things in their stuff most people get confused and the visual abundance and cheesy elements and it's too much - the suspension of disbelief falters and the story becomes jumble of images. I saw similar complains about Sense8 but there was more time so the story was easier to perceive. But I love this kind of thing
( ... )
It is, but you hardly ever update gr, it's practically like you don't have it ;)
MC = main character.
I've heard pretty much that about the Magicians and it makes me apprehensive to try reading it. I prefer to enjoy spending time with the characters even if I don't like them per se. But I'll probably check out a few more episodes.
There is just way too many social media for me to keep up with. Half of the accounts I have I have to reset password every time I log in because I don't remember what it is any more. Some I don't even know what email they were attached to. I almost abandoned deviantart and most of the message boards I used to frequent and I think I have a twitter but I'm not sure. There's just not enough time. I don't know how other people do it.
I thought the same but Quentin is not the only character and there are a lot of cool ideas and it's an interesting take on these YA staples. Although it helps to know HP and Narnia cannon it's not necessary. The book is pretty entertaining on it's own. Especially Fillory.
