Title: Some Things Money Can’t Buy
Summary: The Young and the Restless/Heroes crossover. Christmas in Genoa City for Adam Wilson and Elle. Adam manages to give Elle the one thing on Christmas she’s never had: A Christmas worth remembering.
Pairing: Adam Wilson/Elle Bishop
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: None
Word Count: 542
Disclaimer: The Young and the Restless nor Heroes are owned by me, but by CBS and Tim Kring. I’m simply borrowing these characters for non-profit entertainment.
A/N: Familiar with one character and not the other? No worries. All you really need to know is that they’re two sociopaths with daddy issues who both know a thing or two about imprisonment. Beyond that I hadn't written anything for them in a while and decided even my ships deserved a present.

Another Christmas at the Newman Ranch? Adam wondered as he looked around the living room. With Victor in Belgium he was tempted to stay there. Funny how he only felt welcome in his own home when most everyone else was gone.

It was Christmas morning and he was alone. Most would say he deserved it, he chose to ignore the part of himself that agreed.

His would-be family had ditched him. Ashley had taken Abby, Faith and Traci to the Winters’. She had invited him too but after seeing the look on Neil’s face he knew better than to accept.

Nick and Victoria were with their families. Naturally he hadn’t been invited to join them. It didn’t matter. He knew there was only one person he wanted to spend today with. Luckily for him he also knew just where to find her.

Elle hadn’t had many Christmas mornings. Not real ones when she was growing up and living at The Company. Her father would give her a present every year, sure. But no one else and they were never anything spectacular. Certainly nothing that reminded her of the wonderment children were supposed to experience on Christmas morning.

She knew what they were supposed to be now. Full of joy she had never experienced, giving her a sense of warmth and love and happiness that she also had never truly known. Well, save for a few experiences since meeting a certain son of a certain prominent man in Genoa City that past summer.

She had only known him for a few months, only since August, she had hardly expected an invite to his family’s Christmas gathering. Hell, he had told her enough about his family that she would be surprised if he himself had been invited!

For Thanksgiving - her first real one - they had spent the day right there in her room at the Genoa City Athletic Club with room service. Not that the day had been so bad, but she knew it was better to avoid those who had tried to warn her away from him.

It didn’t matter that the locals didn’t really know her, certainly not what she could do if she felt the situation called for it, but they knew him and apparently that had been enough for half the town to be in their business. It was a wonder she hadn’t electrocuted half of them on sight.

Elle finally managed to shake herself from her bitter thoughts when she heard the knock on her room’s door.

That look on her face, those wide blue eyes, that excited smile. That was Christmas. That was why Adam was there. Right there was exactly what he had wanted today. To spend today with someone who was actually happy to see him, who wanted him under her tree or at the very least would have fun unwrapping him.

“Merry Christmas, Beautiful,” he smiled finally, wondering when she would begin to breathe again.

Maybe he wasn’t under her tree, but Elle was staring up at exactly who and what she wanted most this Christmas.

Christmas at the Genoa City Athletic Club? Alone? Together? Without anyone butting in? Without being insulted just for being there?

It was absolutely perfect.
