I'm still working on the epic trip post -- I don't understand how anyone can do those things. They take for freaking ever, and all I've really done so far is sort the photos. Seriously, forever

Aww, too bad! If the horror aspect of SPN is too freaky for you, you should just put it aside and not torture yourself. I find it mild enough that it doesn't bother me except on rare occasions that usually have to do with them hitting one of my fears - like Bloody Mary did. I enjoy the humor and the prettiness and the mytharc about the demon and the search for the boys father, but I like the horror stuff too.
The Bloody Mary episode was so freakin' scary. That, and I am so afraid of garburators that when that plumber stuck his hand down the sink I was practically crying. And the asylum one. Yikes!
I think that I just wasn't ready for it, you know? I got to the end of the first season and was really interested, so I think I'll stick with it... but now I'm prepared. I know (kind of) what I'm in for.
And I'll only watch it during the day when there is light. ;)
That is so funny - do you know that we don't have a garbage disposal in our house because they freak me out too much? When we put the sink in I said, 'No way!' So that scene totally freaked me out too!
The show definitely changes over the seasons - there's still horror, but it gets mixed in with the big mytharc and, later, some stuff involving religion. I've loved every season of it though, love the characters, love almost all the episodes. Compared to Lost I've found it a very easy show to love. :)
I'm usually really scared by spooky TV, but I can stand SPN for some reason. Some episodes were scary indeed (bloody mary! eeep!), but either I got desensitized or (IMHO) they put a bit more effort into gore vs suspense and I'm way better now.
after a while, I was able to focus on the pretty boys!
It took me a while, but I'm into it now. I just wasn't prepared for it. I got to the end of the season without too many more nightmares, so I'll keep it up and see how it goes!
Plus, pretty boys in a pretty car... what could go wrong?
