I've not made a substantial post in here in a while. Tonight I'm sick (just a cold) so I have some time to do a catch up post.

Ah, fireworks -- last refuge of the moronically dangerous. How I miss my childhood ...

hehe Joss Whedon said in some interview or other around when Serenity was made that Nathan was a hair actor :) That's the root of that one.

I was actually thinking of you, well your job, on firework night and wondering if on nights with fireworks the fire department is busier than usual?

Yes, we do get a rise in activity because of fireworks, all across the board -- fires, injuries, nuisance complaints ...

On Independance Day, the fire department actually sets off the town fireworks display. As the safety officer, I stand back and do safety and brand patrol -- in a dry year I put out a lot of small grass fires.
