I like the way you think. :) #Regarding number six. I'll kind of admit, I didn't mind Hayden Christensen filling in for Sebastian Shaw in the ROTJ Special Edition (and I don't really know what people are getting so upset about -- they're both good, really. #Is shot. XD), and I didn't mind ROTJ-The PT in general, but...very good ideas. :) I don't think Anakin's that much of a mass-murderer, though. #Bit of a sensitive subject. :)

Thank you! I'm glad they work even for those who don't overflow with fannish rage, heh.

Even though I'm, you know, one of those purists who hates the PT and overwhelmingly prefers ANH and ESB, I don't mind the new ghost either! Actually, I even defended it a ways back. People keep saying he should appear in his old age like Obi-Wan and Yoda, but Anakin Skywalker didn't have an old age. Neither HC or SS were remotely close to their forties, so by that reasoning, neither is "right ( ... )

You're very welcome. :)

*This* regarding the new ghost. Seriously. And I'll admit, the Greedo-shot-first thing was kind of stupid as well. Come on, Lucas -- if you didn't want Han to shoot first, why did you write it as such in the first place? Come *on*!

And very good point about Anakin. :) *Sighs* He's a good character, but sometimes I think Lucas was shoving the "ZOMGhe'sgonnabecomeVader" thing in our faces too much.

I agree with most of your proposed changes too.

Cool!

I do agree that the Endor sequence went on for far too long, when Luke and even Lando (yes, Lando) had more interesting storylines going on

Yeah - though for me, it was kind of the first boring space battle ever? Because I didn't care about anyone there. No Vader. No Luke. No Leia. No Han. Lando is cool, but not important enough to waste however many minutes on.

And I know that Shaw was older than Anakin was supposed to be...He was born in 1905 and ROTJ was 1983, so ... just a little! Even putting Anakin at 50, that's more than old enough to be his father. Going with the overall primary canon, Shaw was over thirty years older than the character ( ... )

Mark is a genius, he doesn't count. Besides, he was only around six years older when he was cast; they could hardly be expected to recast just because it took so long to make the next two movies. Anakin was only cast for ROTJ.

Well, SS!Anakin is only properly seen as a ghost, so it's a bit hard to tell. But when I watched ROTJ the first time, the first thing I thought when I saw the ghost, "wow, he looks really old" - so that's kind of where I'm coming from in the debate. I do agree that he was probably envisioned as older than the forty-something he's ended up as.

Ack! Yes, that would make it possible, but it's really squicky. And I think his fatherhood and his paternal feelings are so tightly linked to his Anakin-self that it ... it'd make sense logistically, but not thematically. I mean, it could work for fanfic, but I wouldn't care for it for canon.

Clearly we agree about the important things!
