I thought it'd been awhile since I did one of these, so I glanced back and...over six months. WTF, Elizabeth. In my defense, my DVD was non-functioning for most of that time and only got repaired about two weeks ago. But I'm still side-eyeing myself over my own comment from last time: I'm just hoping I actually finish them -- for ANH anyway -- ( Read more... )

Hey, no worries. *hugs* I'm just glad they're back. :3

Great recap as always! :D (Sorry if I'm a bit short; a bit exhausted, really)

Thanks! I'll try to do another one soon - we'll see how far I got. More than five minutes, I hope.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, feminist rage notwithstanding. :P

You're welcome. :)

Nah, I don't mind. :) Although I will admit Han's comment flew over my head when I was first watching ANH. *was woefully naive*

Luke's the resident brain

You know, I never thought of Luke in this way before, but you're right. Not just here, but all throughout (yes, even on Tattooine). He's a smart guy!

Yes, he is. It gets overlooked a lot, but he does a lot of the plotting and has to function as the voice of reason throughout.

Why does everyone say the Leia "took charge of her rescue"? It's a lie!

I imagine it's the part where Luke and Han had no ideas except shooting stormtroopers and getting inevitably killed, while Leia, instead of standing aimlessly around like most damsels, snatched up Luke's blaster and blew a hole in the wall for them to escape through. At a guess.

(Sure, you could quibble with whether that constituted taking charge of the rescue, given that she led them into the garbage compactor and the escape was largely cooperative after that, but it'd be "differing interpretation," not "lie.")
