You know those bushes in your backyard with all those pretty flowers on em? Rose of Sharon? Well I had no idea what they were till your neighbours wife told me one day whilst outback with the kidlets. Now you know I"ve lived on my street since jesus first got sandals, and I have a weird ocd of noticing things that change even a half a milimetre... So wouldn't you know that this year, on my street the Rose of Sharon IS EVERYWHERE... They haven't been there before but this year, after she passes they are everywhere. I don't know if it's an omen or what or that she's still here or the essence of what was lovely about her is, but there ya have it. A happy to share with you today...
That is a happy right?
Ohhh hahahah when we were going home last night, first crispin asked to take the bus and then when we got to the apartment he was so tired he asked to be carried cause his legs hurt;P Good fuckin time!
Oh wow that's like so profound and shit. You know, coming from you. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Why are you friends with me??! But seriously that's such a sweet story. Someday when John is feeling a bit better I need to tell it to him.
How are the tiny douchebags today? The first words out of Twisty G's mouth this morning were 'ARE WE GOING BACK TO THE FAIR?! HURRY I GOTTA EAT ALL MY NUMMIES SO WE CAN GO BACK TO THE FAIR!!'
Me profound? Whitey you're delirious with the heat!!!
Please do tell him!! I would but I don't think i've ever said words to him, just waved:) But it may help!
They are OK about the festival. They ask intermittently if we can go. And I have to explain that it's closed but they've recovered suffciently. I'd say take them to the X but um kids fall off shit there!!
Aha...and that was going to be my next question whether it was a straight up substitution or if I had to do anything to them first or play with quantities or anything? Thanks! :)
One other thing to consider is if the tomatoes will be cooked or stewed. If you want, you can cut a little X on one end of the tomato and plunge it into boiling water then into ice water. It will help you peel the skin off if you didn't know that.
Taking the skin off can help with the flavour and texture. Most kids don't like the skin when it's cooked I have found.
