Tip, for bean soup, use ready made broth that you can buy by the carton (not those nasty broth cubes), and a bag of dehydrated mixed beans that they sell for soup. Follow instructions, and a VERY short while later, tastey bean soup!

Bollocks. Tonight I made lightly breaded butterfly pork chops with green beans, sweet corn and mashed potatoes with chives, shallots and old cheddar cheese with a splash of white truffle oil, served with a lovely Sauvignon Blanc. This isn't uncommon here.
