theagentx and I started off Saturday by sleeping in a little and then heading off to Hamilton to visit with Tarq and buy some leather. Hm it sounds like the wool you got is closer to what I'm looking for and the stuff at fabricland here might suit your purpose. As I mentioned to Jay I think it would be a good weight for coats for you guys like your investiture stuff. Plus it's on sale

Kol's asking if maybe (if there's enough) you could pick us maybe 5-6 meters and we'll pay you for it when we see you next (weekend after next, I think)?

It's pretty much impossible to find anything heavier than crepe that isn't at least 10% nylon nowadays.
Unless you're willing to pay the $60 a meter for Italian wool.
*eeep!*

Mr. T and I picked up some really nice red wool at Pennsic last time we were there...but it's quite heavy.

You know my red wool Saxon dress? It's 100% wool and perhaps just a shade lighter (in weight) than what we were envisioning for the coats. I picked that up only 6 years ago at Affordable Textiles on Queen St. West in Toronto for something like $12 or $15/meter. It wasn't that bad. Perhaps I was spoiled by that experience.

I have also been looking for some very lightweight (tropical weight) wool suiting that is not crepe (preferably a twill) and the only stuff I found for that project has been in the $40-$60/meter range. It's seems the lighter the wool, the more expensive. Made me wonder if I wouldn't just be better buying a set of identical solid-colour pashmina scarfs and creatively cutting the pieces I need!
