And finally we get to the end. Although (as always) I had a lot of stuff to cram in so it's a bit longer than anticipated... But - at least it's finally done! \o/ And there's waffles, oh yes. (Masterlist of 'verse

The short version is that I like this very much. It's cold and snowy but I have strong coffee and Alex fic!
I love that you took this to such a dark place. I didn't think you'd go there, but it really works for me. Lucy and the Master have such a gorgeous twisted relationhsip, don't they? (You make me want to rewatch season three. And I had scheduled today for reorganizing my bedroom and the guest room) Alex manipulates the Doctor's guilt beautifully, which is what a real kid would probably do. And i doubt he sees the parallels between him and the kidnappers; but it was a nice touch.
Also Jack, The Master, Lucy, The Doctor, and Alex & his buddies sitting down to waffles is just a neat mental picture. And it's making me hungry. Hhmm-- I have the stuff to make waffles! I just may have a breakfast menu!

What is WRONG with LJ today? *stabs*

Yay. I am happy to have contributed to your morning. :)

Oh good! Like I've said before, it's something I've had in my mind for years and years, and it's influenced all the stories that came after [time wise] - you can see the effects in the Alex/Josh argument in the Allison story, and he has uses his teleport pendant in the Torchwood Christmas story. (Plus, of course, you also now know why he's so angry about being sent to Cambridge...)

Heh. Maybe the re-watch could be a reward once you're done?

Did you know that in the Big Finish Audios the Doctor has a great-grandson called Alex *g*.

Yay! And thank you!
I recognised the story but you've expanded it very well and I loved the complexity of the whole situation and everybody's reactions.
I really ought to have put a note somewhere thanking you, since the rough sketch I sent you way back when was immensely helpful - although interestingly I couldn't have written this properly back then since I didn't have Matt or Josh worked out properly yet. So the whole process has been all timey-wimey. ;)
I'm looking forward to finding out what Alex did that landed him at university!
Heh. I might just tell you, to see if it works...

Really? Would this be Susan's son?

Stop thinking. Work. Take what you’ve discovered, project it forward, learn from it, use it. Don’t be caught out again.
And this is a bit creepy-- not that I'm saying it's a bad thing. Just, the Seeker's definitely not human, and this shows it. He *shouldn't* be reacting like we would.
Why did people spend so much time fighting when they could learn and create instead? It was bewildering.
Love this line! The Doctor's influence, much?
Wonderful ending! :D

Eeeeeee! \o/ (I sometimes wonder if the whole thing will collapse under the weight of meta I cram in there, but so far it seems to hold up quite well.)

It's a very him reaction, and he always thinks in the long term... I often wonder whether he's a product of nature or nurture (I do these things. *puzzles at OCs who become three-dimensional*) Anyway, he has inherited his father's talent for careful planning, but uses it to anticipate crises rather than cause them. One of the things that rattle him the most [in this story] is the fact that he'd never considered this happening - he didn't have a back-up plan, he couldn't control the outcome. He's quite the little controlfreak, but a lot of it comes from knowing what the Doctor had to do, and never ever wanting to end up in a similar situation...)

You have a solid grasp of your OCs, which I think is wonderful. :D I love 3-d characters.

I think it's why I haven't read a lot of Eleven fic. There's so many layers in the show that if fics only works on one, they seem to be missing something.
*nods* I've read bits and pieces (including pretty much everything by promethia_tenk. Oh, and cinderbella333 writes fantastic stuff too. Check out Timeless Dreams if you've not read it yet, because it might be the most extraordinary, amazing, deeply layered fic I have ever read.)

Thank you! They just escape and decide to do stuff on their ownn. It's strange, but quite exciting. :)
