Right now, I'm not watching Ralph Nader talk in Battell. On the way back from dinner, though, a crowd of press and idle college students (woohoo!) was gathering outside Skull and Bones. A few minutes later, Nader came and gave a speech in front of the tomb, citing Bush and Kerry's evasion about their time in Skull and Bones. He kept coming back to the idea that all Bonesmen are sworn to support each other in their later pursuits. Which is why Bush and Kerry are part of an evil conspiracy together to elect one of them President on November 2...? And to think, they've done such a good job all this time pretending they don't like each other. *shrug* Nader's just mad he went to Princeton.

In answering questions, though, he did talk about the similarity of both parties' foreign policy (including mentioning the Monday William Safire editorial on Kerry, the neocon). Edwards' tack last night was a bit disturbing: he supported the war as it was presented, then asks Cheney why Iraq and why not one of sixty other countries suspected to have some tenuous link to terrorism. Wouldn't that imply he's willing to lead a war against all those other countries, as well, because he accepted the logic the first time around? (I guess Kerry/Edwards would respond that they'd use diplomacy and sanctions instead, and not need to go as far as a war. Or that it's not a "flip-flop" if you change your strategies because the situation changes.)

My own flip-flop: I've been realizing that my mantra recently has been "just survive the next two weeks, and it'll all be ok." I've been dreading SCSY coming up in a week and a half, the college model UN conference where I'm supposed to be the vice chair of the AU. It feels like I'm drowning in reading and other stuff to do, and giving up one more weekend is horrible. *sigh* So I told people today that I couldn't be involved this semester. This should do wonders for my sanity. Granted, there's still a lot of other stuff I need to catch up with/keep on top of, but this should make life much easier. I'm really sorry to drop out on short notice, though, and I hope it won't make it difficult to get involved in the future. Because YIRA plays awesome 80s music at its parties. :)

OK, now to get started on work for next week. 0:-) Because there's lots of it.
