My dad's eye cataract surgerey went well. No complications, that's what the doctor said. I hope tomorrow, when the bandage will be taken away, it'll be fine too. My dad was nervous, never saw him like that. A new experience for me. And I was afraid too, I hope I didn't show it too obviously

Bei meinem Papa wurde im letzten Herbst auch der Graue Star mittels einer neuen Linse beseitigt, am nächsten Tag, als der Verband abkam, sah man echt nichts, das Auge war nicht mal rot oder so. Eben ganz normal. Und er konnte auch sofort besser gucken, echt wahnsinn.

Ich hoffe, das läuft morgen auch so.
Mußte dein Vater beide Augen machen lassen? Mein Papa muß im April nochmal.

Aber das mit der künstliche Linse... ich find das einfach nur Wahnsinn! Wer sich das ausdenkt.. und v.a. dass das dann funktioniert.

Beim meinem Vater hat ein Auge gereicht, aber du hast recht, ist schon klasse, was heutzutage alles möglich ist. Der Eingriff an sich geht ja auch recht fix. Zwar musste mein Vater noch ein paar Wochen Augentropfen nehmen, aber sonst war nichts, es hat nichts geschmerzt und war auch rein gar nichts zu sehen.

Good to hear that your father's surgery went well! I'd be terrified of having surgery anywhere in my face, but especially in the eye - and I'm always amazed when somebody has it done and comes out of it safely. Modern medical science really is almost miraculous...

snape_the_hbp really looks interesting. Not joining yet (such a coward, I am), but definitely going to watch it, so thanks for the link!

And finally, good luck with your term paper. I'm already terrified of the one I have to write for the Demons seminar...

And you know you've been studying Japanese for too long when you begin to write "your dad" and then think "wait, that's too informal". ... ... ...
