It's taken ten years but "Badtz-Maru Company" finally received a C&D over badtz-maru.com . The sharks want it transferred to Sanrio, immediately. I merely changed the non-mail DNS entries to point to Sanrio's IP in feeble hopes of keeping my ten year old email address.

Do you have any recourse? Probably can't claim prior art on this one, I bet, sucks.

They may give you a credit for the 10 years of internic fees. Or a free Hello Kitty Pencil Case.

I'm just going to give it to them, although I've asked for six months in which to do it. I need to make sure I don't have any old email from anywhere going to that domain. We'll see what they say.

Why not try to make them buy it from you? You could make fat cash!

From what I've seen on the WIPO site, if I even make a suggestion of compensation, that will indicate that I registered the domain "in bad faith" and they'll just take it. It's all rigged in the corporate favor these days.
