i think i'm starting to figure things out. where i am, where i belong, what i want, etc. my major, for example. english really is what i want to do. at first i just chose it because i couldn't figure out what the hell else to study, and even though i struggle to get good grades sometimes (because i'm lazy, not because i can't) i keep having these

Good for you! It's awesome you've finally figured out what you want to do, and it's always great to be studying something you actually enjoy. As for what to do with your major, I guess you could always teach or be a writer for something (or for yourself) or go to grad school and do just about anything.
So yay for being happy with where you are and what you're doing! Keep up the good work.
