Update on stuff

Just adding an update to the update, to say that I was foolishly relying on AOL to not put all the emails I actually wanted to read into the spam folder, which turned out to be a big mistake! Should have checked on the journal directly. Thank you so much all of you for your lovely comments, which I will answer now that I know they ( Read more... )

Good to hear from you! I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm glad you had medication while you needed it but are able to be off it again.

Welcome back to fandom!

I'm glad to hear there will be more Charndras! I may have to do some rereading now-is Book One seriously revised so that I should get that from Amazon, or should I wait and just get the revised Book Two when that's out as well?

Thank you so much for the kind words. Can you send me an email so I can check that the addy I have for you is up-to-date so we can talk about Book Two and Three? (If you're not too busy?)

Thank you again for the welcome back. :)

Welcome back indeed, though very sorry for the reasons for the absence. I had a similar experience in the early 2000s, and it does take a while to get back on one's feet. It sounds like you're heading that way, and fandom and writing (fanfic and OC) is, to me, a cathartic step forward. I actually found Mag 7 as part of my recovery process and, for better or worse (depending on who you ask *G*) I am still there.

Though yes, MUNCLE fandom, from which I came, is also still visited! Yea for writing!! And thank you so much for posting to AO3 (in case I haven't made that clear over there!)

Farad, thank you so much for your welcome back. I think a lot of people have been through what we have and have so many reasons to be grateful to fandom. I hadn't realized how not myself I was when I couldn't write. It's just been revelatory to be able to immerse myself in fannish things again. I've been downloading music vids and mainlining fic in every fandom at once, and it's been heaven. And thank you, too, for all your kindness over on A03. I have really fallen in love with that place. Am having to beat off the fanfic ideas at the moment, because I want to write in every fandom I love at once, too. Just a few weeks back read the most wonderful Kid!Ezra, Teenage!Vin, RecoveringFromGrief!Chris fic by yum@ and, honestly, if the NHS could bottle how much good that did me, they would be able to cure everyone's mental health issues overnight!

Thanks again so much.

I'm sorry for your loss Lori and hope you can continue to find your equilibrium again.

If your ears where burning in the last couple of weeks you can probably blame myself and my sister. She asked about whether that "green covered series with the elves had ever been finished". I had to say no then checked on Solidus and on here just to check I hadn't missed anything a few days later I checked amazon while looking up authors at work and say Book 1 as an ebook so I waved it under her nose this week end when we moved her to Cumbria. I am now happily 28% through it and just as amused this time round by the song Freyadis references about the dragon who eats the the maiden then robs the chaste knight of his ..... *coughs*
You can count me among those who are delighted to see you update.

*hugs*

Oh, Bee, thank you. I can't tell you what good it has done me to read this. I've just been immersed in Book Three, and trying to put in a new bit, and trying to work out what goes best in that one or in the earlier one, now I've got the option of moving things around. It's so heartening to hear that there are people who actually still care what happens because I've been so unbelievably slow about getting the other books out there. I've put back in the 'rude mechanicals', as I think of Faerlian's people, because there just wasn't room for them with the page restrictions before, and it meant I had to info dump in Book Three to introduce them. (The earlier delays with Book Three were because I had structure problems inherited from all the leftover parts of Book One and Book Two that had to be left out because of the binding of thebooks not being able to accommodate more than 700 pages without the printers yelling. I love ebooks where no one cares how long the book is!) I think Book Four is still going to be enormous but it won't matter ( ... )

I enjoyed meeting Faerlian's little band beyond the little we saw of them in the hardback version of book 2 I'm glad he is not quiet so alone as to only have Tyrion who likes and supports him.

Looking forward to reading the news "extended edition" of book two though I have to admit I got impatient and dug my hard copy out of the bookcases to devour in July.

Thank you so much. I shouldn't be surprised at how kind fandom and fannish people are, because they always have been. I just feel so much as if I've been in a long dark tunnel for five years that I'm still slightly dazzled by how bright everything is.

As I rambled on in the comment above. I'm still sort of moving the furniture around with Book Two, and I'm adding a new scene to Book Three. (Because I wanted to put Freyadis in peril some more, just because.) But they should be out soonish. (Basically, when someone takes them away from me and stops me fiddling with them.)

Thank you for your kind words and support. :)
