OK, so it really has nothing to do with the Olympics, but I thought I'd really "whip" something up.  Sort of a sewing sprint instead of a spree.  It was inspired by a combination of the weather forecast, and Read more... )

Ooh! I just made wrap-pants too and I lurrrrv them! Though I need to make them a bit bigger next time because yeah, I totally flash people when I sit down unless I safety pin the sides together six inches down from the waistband.

I ended up just tying the bottom hem corners in a knot when I was taking my market tent down. :-) People still got a show, but at least I wasn't dragging the garment on the ground every time I bent over or lifted a cinder block.

I like them. :) I need to make a pair of monsoon or wrap pants or whatever for mah bellah. I can't wear scrubs anymore until after Christmas. :P

They are nummy to wear. I just made another pair out of leopard-print cotton, and used the full 45" width of the fabric for each leg. (= 2m of fabric for one pants.) The new ones fit without gapping all the way up to my hips. So if you're using them for baby-bump, use the full width of the fabric, and make a really deep crotch so you can tie them on top of the bellah. You should get excellent leg coverage. If you carry really big and forward, the way I did, use 60" wide fabric.
