Matt won free tickets to a Reverend Horton Heat show last night. They put on a good show, and it was a lot of fun. Bass is a really sexy instrument - I mostly watched him play. :) The opening act was a band called Nashville Pussy which did not at all impress me. I didn't really get how their music went with RHH. They had female musicians playing

Being a fan in years previous of Nashville Pussy, I can only wonder how high the booker was to pair them with the Rev. Those are polar opposites in style and draw. A strange show indeed. I've not seen Reverend Horton Heat live yet, although he stops by town to play often enough. It doesn't surprise me the mix of people since Horton attracts gothabilly and 'Pussy attracts buttrockin' thrashers.

Still. I'm trying to wrap my head around that mix. I'd overlook it if it was a festival, but sharing a bill for a single night's show? Kooky.

And just FYI, Nashville Pussy tours with RHH a LOT - most of the time, I would say. I have a friend who was a roadie for Nashville Pussy - some of the wildest and nastiest behind-the-scenes stories I've ever heard. A lot of drug use and craziness with that band...

Yeah, that band seemed pretty gross to me. Totally not my thing.
