Yikes! Your drive sounds harrowing! I'm glad you made it to your mom's safely. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Very sad. :(

Isn't it surprising how tired you can get after just sitting in the same place for 8 hours?

Glad you made it home safe. So are you in Fort Collins?

Welcome to Denver! Sorry if I've missed the details-- are you now here long-term? As you already know, it's a great place to live.

And YES-- driving through Wyoming is the worst. In general Wyoming creeps me out, but even if it weren't for all the isolated weirdos, the driving would still be a bitch. It takes FOREVER, and yes, the truckers are insane!

Anyway, you got here just in time for better weather; it's much less hot now and I saw the loveliest rainbow ever last night. :-)

No, just for three months right now, for one of my optometric rotations. I'm working at a Lasik center in Denver until November.

Glad you made it! When do you have to start working?

Very sad about your family friend. That should serve as a lesson to us all.

We drove across the country once, a northern route, and I swear we were in South Dakota for days. I guess we weren't, but it seemed that way. I'm sure there are nice parts of SD, but Southern SD is BLEH. Just non-stop straight and yellow for an eternity. Getting to Wyoming was actually a relief!
