We're catching up, but as of this morning (before today's storms) Lake Lanier was still more than 16 feet below its normal level. It was at 20 feet at the end of December, so it's better, but still nowhere near enough. Only a few of today's storms were up that way (though they killed a couple of people up near Rome); most came through downtown again or just south of me.
I don't think the drought is supposed to go away anytime soon. La Niña might help, but only with severe weather like this.
