My buddy Rich has been a balloon captain in the parade for most of the past 20 years. We were watching TV one year and they were showing the parade lining up and there was Rich in a Garfield hat and yellow slicker (balloon teams have outfits appropriate to their balloon) and he was dressing down his team in this ridiculous outfit shouting, "YOU CONTROL THE BALLOON PEOPLE, THE BALLOON DOES NOT CONTROL YOU!!!"

Dad already warned me about bringing something for my ears. Gonna hafta find a wool cap or those individual ear cover things. I'm not sure I'll even be paying attention to the weather. I just hope my fingers don't freeze.

Are you going to be in a position to sell or otherwise publicize the photos you take? Because that would be *sweet*.

I have no idea. I should at least own the copyrights and be able to use them for personal use, but Macy's may have some sort of commercial control of them. I'll be using my own equipment and memory cards. I'm hoping I'll just have to send them a CD or whatever of the original files.

I'll find out more when I get there, I guess.
