The US Social Forum rally has begun. Late, of course. Loony Liberals are too busy feeling to bother to show up or start anything on time. The march to the Civic Center was supposed to start at 2:00, but the speakers didn't start talking until 1:45; and it's taking them twice as long to talk because every sentence is being translated into Spanish

Well that is what happens when you don't put the time and effort into pre-scripting your demonstrations and putting the care into hiring quality protesters.

I saw in the paper that there was going to be some march down there, and people demanding a whole slew of things. I'm not sure from whom they're demanding these things.

Well, that's the difference between the Right and Left. The Left just demands things without specifying anything. The Right demands very specific things very specifically from specifically powerful people. Guess who gets what they want.

We were at an anti-Iraq-war march a few years ago where exactly the same non-response happened. The people running the thing put out some instructions and it worked a *little* better for a *little* while.

Hippies just ain't what they used to be.

I imagine it was a little easier in the 60s. Fewer choices at those marches. What do we want! Peace! Equal Rights! Pot!

Today was Justice! Peace! Unions! Immigration! Health Care! Water Rights! Really, Just a Bottle of Water Would Do Nicely Right About Now!
