[WHO] Sophie-Anne Leclerq & OPEN [WHERE] Lobby of the Mezzo Hotel [ABOUT] The sun takes its toll on a stubbon vampire queen. [WARNINGS] Um, language and possible violence? ---
A small but firm hand caught her elbow before her sleeve could make contact with the blood. "Don't do that or you'll ruin it," he said, offering her a handkerchief instead. "Here."

Sophie-Anne's first instinct was to let her fangs out and snarl, grab that hand and twist it away from her by the wrist. How dare someone touch her! But, it soon registered that this person meant no harm and was simply trying to prevent her from staining one of the few nice outfits she had in this dreadful place with the blood that wouldn't bee coming from her person if she weren't so stubborn and actually went to ground.
She doesn't harm him or recoil from that touch at her elbow, but smiles gratefully - even somewhat genuinely - instead, taking that handkerchief and dabbing at her nose with it. "Thank you."

"You're welcome. Are you all right, miss?" Kid asked, golden eyes watching her steadily. He must've presented an odd sight in his neat little suit, his attitude a lot older than his physical appearance suggested -- except for those eyes.
Miss. It wasn't quite the 'Your Majesty' she was used to, but formalities were formalities and the Queen of Louisiana responded well to such politeness. She wasn't one to judge solely on appearance, especially given that she was over five hundred years old, but looked like nothing more than a seventeen year old playing dress up in her mother's Sunday best. (Nevermind that her mother predated the flapper fashion she tended to favor.)
"I'm fine," she lied. Or, sort of lied. She was fine and she would be fine if she stayed awake the whole day - fine as in, she'd survive it. She'd be miserable throughout it as the sun pulled at her and demanded she go to ground where vampires belong during the day, shrouded in the darkness they were damned to inhabit, but she would, in the end, be fine. "Just stubborn, I suppose you could say."
Whatever George had been doing in the hotel he forgot the moment he noticed the woman and what exactly was going on. Not that he understood it, but he did have all that fatherly instinct that suddenly made him worry.
She sensed his presence long before he walked over to her. It was one of the perks of being blood-bonded to someone, and was a comfort she missed. Back home in Baton Rouge, she had dozens of courtiers that she surrounded herself with that were bonded to her, from her dear Hadley to that pool boy whose name always escaped her. She missed Hadley. As suffocating as the girl could be at times, she really did truly miss her, for Sophie-Anne cared for her as much as she was capable of. It was complicated and she didn't like to think too hard of it, for it only served to frustrate her and remind her of just how much being here sucked. The queen did not like not being able to exercise control over her situation. At all.
George, however, gets something of a friendly smile when she turns to him. "Hm? Oh, no. Well, yes, but it's fine. This happens sometimes when the s-u-n is out."
George, for his part, had mostly taken the whole “vampire” thing in stride. If he stopped to think about it, it wasn’t actually all that surprising. And if it came down to it, he could write the whole thing off as an alien encounter and those, of course, had lost all the fear associated with them. Besides, he felt like he owed her a few things after she had healed his sight. And on top of all of that, she still looked so young, even if he knew that she wasn’t and some instinct that settled in the minds of every parents made him worry.

"Do I need a reason to be?" Such is said with the air of a woman who is used to doing what she wants, when she wants to, without anyone questioning her actions. She is one of the Vampire Monarchs of the Americas. Sophie-Anne is quite used to doing things without people questioning her.
Though, all at the same time, she's intrigued by his question. Not many dare question. In a way, she's missed questions. As infuriating as being questioned can be, inquiries can also be very refreshing in the face of the same old patterns, century after century.
Kanda glanced back briefly as the woman whose path he had just walked across not paying her or anyone else any mind spoke. Gaze icy as always, he didn't look sympathetic at all. Hell, maybe he was in a hurry too.
"And you have no virtue," he stated blankly. He couldn't remember exactly what was that little bit he's heard of women and bleeding from Lenalee and Jerry, but he got the impression they were inclined to hide it.
Well, not like it'd kill him. And hey, he's also capable of moving so fast he's no more than a blur, so it doesn't seem to intimidate him the slightest, and he simply looks back at whom he has no idea is a real vampire, his expression completely blank. He's not even making any motion to defend himself at the moment or anything.
"Che." It's all he says, but it's quite clear he's not intending to take anything back as in his eyes, he is always right.

"I would take back your words if I were you. It's been a while since I've fed and I have no qualms with making a meal of you right here and now."
