Graves decorate the landscape almost as plentifully as the flowers did before this madness gripped the ship. Headstone after headstone with empty, gaping holes and no one in sight except the rotting dead.

Damas isn't alone, though - as he'll find out when Phoenix comes out from behind one of the larger headstones and launches himself at the king.

Damas couldn't do much more than curse himself for letting his guard down. Phoenix's attack catches him completely by surprise and they go toppling to the ground. He snarls when his back connects with the dirt, and he tries to shove Phoenix off of him.

Even with all the restless energy bubbling under his skin, Phoenix is still not as strong as Damas is. The shove manages to dislodge him, but it does nothing to deter him at all. Rearing back on his knees, he draws his arm back, then lets his fist fly straight for Damas' face.

Damas curses under his breath, he'd barely had the time to get up himself-- he catches Phoenix's fist and twists it away from his own face. He finally gets a clear look at the younger elf's face and of his own reflection in the jewel planted between Phoenix's eyes.

"What," he finally grounds out, "do you think you're doing?"
