December hadn't really met this Razer guy people were talking about, but she decided to go to his birthday party anyway. It would be the perfect chance to meet new people, and who didn't like birthday parties?! Parties were fun; food, people, and music. What wasn't to like, in the child's mind.

Rummaging around in all of the rooms on deck 12, she managed to find herself a nice little party dress and shoes, as well as a nifty looking hat to give to the birthday boy.

Skipping down the stairs to deck 20, she found Bryn setting up the party and smiled, hiding the hat behind her back.

"Hi! Do you need any help?"

Bryn hadn't been expecting to hear a little girl's voice behind her, and at first she thought perhaps Lily had arrived. As she turned to greet the girl, smile on her face, her eyebrows rose up high in surprise. She'd forgotten there was a new child on board. She crouched down to eye-level with the girl.

"Hi there. I'm doing just fine, but thanks for offering. Are you here for the party?"

December nodded. She knew that the lady was probably expecting someone else, and based on her excited look, she had probably been expecting Lily. Shrugging it off, December smiled and offered Bryn the hat she'd picked out for him.

"I know its silly, cause I don't really know Razer, but I got him a birthday present..."

Bryn took the hat in her hands with obvious pleasure. She turned it over in her hands, examining it carefully.

"This is a wonderfully silly hat," she said with a grin, and handed it out. "That's really sweet of you to get something for him. I didn't think to get Razer a present...I'm Bryn by the way."

She held out her hand to shake. Meeting new people had been wonderful the last couple weeks, so her attitude was definitely one of "the more the merrier."

Blitz had come down to see how everything was going. Razer had said he'd been in Deck 20 avoiding the party, but it looked like the party was coming to him no matter what. He got a good laugh from the flags, and knew how Razer might feel about them.

Regardless, Bryn had done a decent job setting something up on such short notice. Nothing as extravagent or fancy as in Kras, certainly, but it was... well, it was a party.

He found a spot where he could watch the track and incoming guests as they arrived. Like hell if he wasn't going to use this to promote the tournament.

Bryn headed over to Blitz when he walked in. The party was small, and far from grand, but Bryn suspected that smaller parties were better for people who weren't too keen on celebrating. Putting it on the race track was her way of making it more bearable for Razer.

"So, will it do? Does it work for an impromptu celebration? Thought he might not mind so much if we held it here..."

Bryn took a seat next to Blitz to survey the view from his perspective. The decorations were far from grand, but they worked in a pinch.

"Oh, he'll mind all right. But he's social enough that he'll come around eventually. Razer is Razer, so I wouldn't worry too much about it."

She seemed proud of it, and he was glad someone had taken the initiative in setting something up.

"Well I hope he does. I'm of the firm belief that birthdays are something to celebrate, not dread. I like convincing people, y'know?" she stated, glancing over. "The race tracks are set to novice level so people can still drink what they like and race without worry of hurting others or themselves. I tried to figure out a way to make a bumper car track, but the best I got was a wide circular track. Should be fun though, yeah?"

At least, that was the plan. If people showed up. She hoped they would. There was nothing more depressing than having a party that no one attended.

The party's not quite his idea of fun, but there is booze and racing involved, and those are two of Jak's favorite things ever. Not to mention he's sulking since Keira blew him off, so he trudged down to the party to see who else would be there.

She isn't surprised when she sees Jak here. Didn't he mention to that Blitz guy that he might go? He stands out a little, too.

Well, it's tomorrow. She's calmer, determined to be composed. And this place was as good as any. Semi-public.

She's a little cautious as she sees him from a distance and starts approaching. "Jak?"

Jak had, surprisingly headed straight to the drinks when he arrived, and he was in the middle of pouring himself one when he heard his name called out. That voice.

His ears twitched and he turned, eyes lighting up. She might be years behind him and they might bicker, but she was one of his best friends from childhood.

"Keira ..."

Keira eyes the alcohol. She doesn't really like it too much. Wine is nice, the bubbly kind - champagne? It doesn't really surprise her that Jak seems to have taken up the habit.

But she sees his face light up as he heads her way. Maybe it's just for that moment, but she can see Jak - her Jak - again. He's still in there. It's still Jak, even if...

It's hard for her to be unhappy with him when he looks at her like that.

She's quiet as she draws nearer, though. Studying him. He looks different. Older. His hair is different. Other things too -- had he gotten taller?

"...Jak."

This was one of the most ridiculous things Erol had ever seen. He would never let Razer live this one down - in private, at least. In public, their mutual dislike would continue; and he had to admit, it was fun to play the part.

Glancing over the race settings, he snorted in disgust.

It was SAFE.

"You MUST be joking." He was speaking to no-one in particular, and anyone within hearing distance.

Funny thing is, this party that's supposed to be for Razer--only it really isn't and he knows it, it's all for Blitz's PR--is well underway by the time he finally shows up. He'd been up on deck twelve with Lily for a while, updating the girl's wardrobe, then gone to eat something and get a little bit drunk up in his room.

He didn't even know this was where the party was being held until Remy saw fit to bring it up.

It is completely, utterly, absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention a little pathetic. But the worst part, of everything, is that he knows that no matter what he says to deny it having anything to do with him, Razer is never going to live it down.

He stands just outside the elevator and, for the first time since his arrival, really hates this Mardamned boat.

Blitz spots Razer the moment he gets out of the elevator and makes his way over. His cameras are hovering around him, as usual.

"About time you showed up."

At first Razer doesn't say a word, instead fixing Blitz with a flat, bored look that quite clearly asks who the hell thought this was a good idea. Really, who.

Then he shakes his head slightly and looks away, fixing one hand to his hip and gesturing idly with the other.

"I was...busy. You cannot expect me to be here all the time."

He ignores the look; he's used to that from Razer.

"Yes, yes, but it's good to get some actual style here."

Blitz thought it was a good idea. It's just too bad what happened in actuality was nowhere near as nice as what he had pictured.
