Link had taken to scouring the ship by himself; poking through unfamiliar corridors, looking for any clues that would point to where the Princess and the other captives were being held. He probably should have propositioned either the Hero or at least Midna for their help, but...Midna couldn't hide in his shadow here. And the Hero didn't look well.
... bingo. Blondie there had "mark" written all over him.
Russ dropped his cigarette and ground it under the heel of his boot, then cracked open the door to the theater and glanced inside, waiting for Link to get a little closer.
Attempting to make a mental map in your head was much less effective than tracking down a real one. Link would have to consider doing this sometime later, perhaps before he located Zelda even. It wouldn't do to get lost.
OF course, any map he acquired here could very well be a lie; it was difficult to know what to do when you could trust the crew or anything else on the ship. Link would have to rely on his instincts which weren't too shabby...but hardly infalliable. It was worrying, but what else could he do?
Nothing. He had to find the Princess, no matter what.

So Link was left to investigate alone.

"Hey! Greensleeves!"
He jerked his head in a "come here" motion.
