Well, the food at the buffet was a no-go. It smelled horrible and tasted even worse, apparently the captain's punishment for their little field trip into the crew-only decks. So with that out of the question, Link headed to the Kuma-ko with his stomach growling loudly. Maybe the food there would be better?
When he walked in, he saw that it wasn't empty like it normally is. Rather, there was a girl here, and a girl he didn't know at that. That was odd. Clearing his throat to announce his presence, he walks over to the bar and glances at her hesitantly before finally asking, "Is it okay if I sit here...?"
Unagi sushi lifted halfway to her mouth, Ema blinked as an... elf spoke to her. Bears, now elves. Maybe logic really wouldn't help her in this place. At his question, she shrugged. "Sure," she replied, finally eating her first bite of sushi. Aaaah, that was it. It had been far too long since she had sushi. Washing it down with her sake, she returned her focus to her food.
Link gave her a polite nod, and sat down at the bar. He normally ordered simple chirashi-zushi, the bowl being easier to eat from with chopsticks than smaller pieces.
After raising his hand to get a bear's attention and asking for his usual, he went silent for another moment and finally glanced back at her.
"Um... so, are you a new passenger? I haven't seen you before."
"Just arrived," she replied, "I'm guessing you've been on board a while; do they kidnap all their passengers, or am I just lucky?" Ema had moved on to shrimp sushi, working her way clockwise around the sushi-laden plate.
A pair of chilling emerald eyes watched the brunette inquisitively from where she sat, seemingly content with her meal and current company. Ulquiorra felt no need to approach, no need to introduce himself; she appeared young and unassuming, certainly not the type who would be able to provide him with any information he would consider valuable in the slightest. Even the sight of seemingly-cordial bears taking care of all the formalities didn't irk him or pique his interest enough for him to stride closer
( ... )
Ema saw the (rather strange-looking) man walk in and sit at a table not too far from her. She didn't think much of it as she adjusted the glasses resting atop her head; she knew full well she wasn't alone on the ship, and sushi bars tended to be rather popular when it came to eateries. So she kept focused on her meal, for now.
