She's determined, and smiling when she looks up, eyes focused on Zuko's, ignoring the scar. She lifts her hands high into the air and turns them one over the other and offers one to the prince.

"Zuko," she asks, "won't you dance with me?"

There is no way Zuko knows ballet. To dance with Tutu, though, one does not need to know a thing about that particular art. When she needs to, she guides Zuko's arms, or leads him into a step. Her grace is infectious, her demeanor calming.

"Zuko, why do you look scared? Or maybe it is sadness that you feel?"

Seeing the prince like this makes her want to cry herself, but she knows she mustn't, she knows she must be strong for him.

"Zuko...." She murmurs, her gentle smile spreading across her face again. She touches a finger to his lips to keep him from speaking while she does, it's very important, he needs to know. Finally, Tutu stands apart from him for just a moment, to emphasize his need to listen to her.

Tutu's dance as she speaks is beautiful, powerful. Her voice sounds clear and breathless in the room through her gravity-defying leaps and bounds. "Everyone makes mistakes. In fact, I make mistakes-- I make them all the time." She lowers herself to the ground, one leg jutted out in front of her, a white shadow on the dark tile. Her arms stretch to meet her pointed toe, suggesting the depths of despair. "And, try as I might, sometimes, I feel as though I'll never be good enough, strong enough to fix them." Slowly, she makes her way back to her feet, punctuating her words with a series of quick spins, highlighting each word in turn. " ( ... )

Tutu smiles again, before the same red glow from before overtakes her. The flash is blinding, and, when it's gone, little Duck is standing in her wake, still clasping Zuko's hands.

She gives a loud yelp and yanks her hands away. "Why did I transform back--?!"

"I-I-I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She's sorry for touching him more than anything. "I-- uh. That was... w-weird, wasn't it... I-I... maybe I helped. I don't know." She wants to make herself small and vanish again. She glances back, looking to see if she can make a break for it.

Duck sighs as though a huge weight were lifted from her chest. That's really funny, Zuko, 'cause.... sheeeee has never quite figured out how she does it on the boat, either.

"You mean... it-- it worked?"

Zuko's laughter is contagious and she starts giggling, clasping his hands again and bouncing up and down. "I'm so glad! I-- eeeeeeeeheehee! This is great!"

She did something, did it right. Whatever worries she had about home were gone-- whether Rue hated her, whether Fakir and Mytho were right, where the rest of the heart shards were. She'd finally helped someone, no strings attached, no future mess-ups possible.
