Since his run in with Bass, Jak had been recovering in his room. Despite still being bruised and uncomfortable, he was relatively unharmed -- this kind of discomfort was a pretty normal state for him to be in, after all -- if hungry as hell.

So a trip to the buffet was in order, this time with Daxter. A bite to eat, maybe a workout in the gym, a little racing later. Sparring with Bass had put him in a surprisingly good mood.

"Soooo...he just. Up an' left. Didn't try to do anything else." Daxter, for his part, couldn't seem to understand the purpose of someone not trying to punch Jak's skull in. That was usually how their fights went; bad guy shows up. Bad guy attempts to punch in skull. Bad guy either runs away or dies. "You sure you didn't break somethin' important on him?"

But then he spotted a familiar face from across the room and, with absolutely no regard to social grace, lifted himself up on two legs and shouted over to Anna. "Hey sweetheart!" He leaped down from Jak's shoulder, strolling over to her before stopping and waving a hand back at Jak- "Hey, get me somethin' will ya?" -before continuing on his way over to Anna, climbing up onto the table as if she'd invited him. "So how're you doin', toots?"

She hadn't been expecting company, and her face broadens into a smile at Daxter's familiar voice, and she's momentarily distracted away from the fact that he had come in with some one as she's spoken to.

"Ah, bonjour, Daxter. Better, yes? Much better."

"Mmhm."

He'd already said it plenty of times, but sometimes Jak was pretty sure Daxter only repeated himself so much to hear the sound of his own voice. Non-committal grunts were the easiest way to weather this kind of onslaught.

Aaaaand there he went to flirt.

Rolling his eyes, Jak grabbed a plate and started to pick out a few things that he recognized. The plate was only half full when Anna spoke, and Jak paused, serving tongs poised in mid air. That voice was awfully familiar.
