my external hard drive has like, ten years of assorted collected media on it. it's kind of my ~chronicle of existence~ in that i back up everything on it, and when i thought my laptop had bought it a couple of weeks ago i transferred basically all of my archived documents onto it (and in a brilliant stroke of genius deleted them from my harddrive).

OMG, I totally feel your pain right now. My laptop decided that it just wasn't going to turn on tonight, and I have no clue what's wrong, and therefore no clue how to fix it.
I hope your hard drive lasts long enough for you to get all of your data backed up!

ugh my hard drive is apparently, as far as i can tell, totally gone. none of my computers will recognize it D: D: D: MY HEART IS ON THE FLOOR.

Oh god no that sucks. D= My laptop did the blue screen of death two weeks ago and I was terrified I wouldn't be able to get all my files off it because I kept everything there. My cousin was able to fix it and get all the files onto his external hard drive for me though so it turned out okay. I really hope you can get your things back!

my harddrive is with my cousin now (lol) so hopefully he can save it? idk he is a software guy so i am terrified panda.

It wasn't too bad actually because it broke down a few days before I was leaving for the US (family vacation). So I basically gave him it and 40$ and came back to a working laptop again. I'm just waiting on him to bring his external hard drive over so I can have my files again.

I really hope your cousin can save your hard drive too! I've only had my laptop for three years and I still would've cried if I'd lost everything, I can't even imagine dealing with losing ten years worth. D=

ugh the harddrive is only like, 18 months old, too :( i transferred everything from the old one into it and i was like, YES I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING ANYMORE and then this happened ;_______;
