The City is already a bad soap opera, so a curse based on soap operas should not have been nearly as noticeable except for the decrease in the quality of the drama and increase in noise. That was just annoying.
Shopping list:
-Canned soup
-Books
-A teddy bear for Waverly since she kept muttering about one and I forgot to pick one up sooner
-M1911 Pistol

I'm glad you weren't affected yesterday.

That does seem likely. I have no intention of doing so, it wouldn’t accomplish anything and I really don’t think she’d want me to, either.
I don’t think I could have tolerated myself if I was. I really dislike soap operas.
[OOC: Sorry for all the emo/oddness lately… The emotional rollercoaster of City life is getting to Amanda, and she fails at coping in normal ways sometimes. ._.]

…there has been an increase in violent crime lately-as you might already know-, and I generally patrol alone when I’m assigned to streetwork as part of the police. Since I would be at a disadvantage attempting to stop anyone from commiting such crimes up close due to being weaker and slower than the recent suspects, it seemed like the best choice, since being reassigned is unlikely, would be to acquire a long range weapon to hopefully non-lethally disable the suspect before they reached me.

Out of interest, who is responsible for assigning you to this task? Who is your commander?

Commander Vimes is in charge of the police force as well as being one of the wardens. I believe I was assigned to this because I have the least experience of those in the department so it would make a degree of sense to give the task that requires the least specialization under the quieter circumstances which the schedule was made during.
[OOC: …stupid typo. “Irreparable invaid mark up” is so not something to call one’s boss. ._.]

If you need help vith anything, let me know, ja?

I’m usually assigned to patrol alone and the increase in violent crime is making me a little paranoid something might happen. Thank you for the offer, but I don’t believe it’s anything more than nerves right now.

Mmm . . . would you like me to cook dinner for you, Amanda-san? So at least there's one item that is to be crossed out from that list.

That would be wonderful, thank you. With all the recent crimes, my shifts have gotten longer and I haven’t had time to do much cooking and still expect to have free time.

It is good that you dedicate so much effort to your work, Amanda-san. And this is the least that I can do to help. Do you have any allergies to food?

It’s better that I do than don’t.
There’s only two things I’m allergic to, and neither would be put in food by any reasonable person: One is a mild allergy to penicillin, and the other is a slightly worse allergy to Dehydroacetic acid which is only used in some types of makeup- usually facepowder.
