Year of the...?

Happy Chinese/Eastern New Year to all who celebrate it. Which animal is it this year?

I'll be joining in the festivities, so... Does this look right?

How were the gifts? I might be getting the holidays confused,  but I think New Year's is the one were people give small gifts in hope of prosperity coming to the receiver. It was cold to walk around to ( Read more... )

Thank you very much. That is most kind of you. I have no idea which year it is in this world, unfortunately. But allow me to say that you are truly beautiful in this. The colour becomes you well. The ladies of Wu would be jealous.

I am sure Sun Ce will be pleased with his present as well. May I... ask what this is meant to be?

((OOC: Kojiro will comment once he lives again. Which should be... about now. :D Also, he doesn't know crowns like that, sorry. ._.))

You’re welcome.

Thank you very much; my research about this holiday suggested that wearing red on the first day of the lunar New Year is the common practice, so that was the primary reason I chose this one.

Hm… now that I think about it… maybe all the mechanical mice mean it’s the Year of the Mouse here? No, there’s no mouse year, so maybe it’s the Year of the Rat? I’m not sure, but that seems like it would be reasonable to guess from.

The paper item is supposed to be my attempt at making a temporary crown for Sun Ce for while he’s in the City instead of in Wu where he’d have his proper items suiting being a lord. It’s Western style, so I know it’s at least a little off, but the thought is what counts most, correct?

[OOC: ‘s ok. Yay culture differences~]

It's a beautiful choice, no matter the reasons. Although I am honoured that someone of a completely different culture does this much to learn about ours.

If those things indeed have a meaning, that would make sense. A good guess indeed. But then that brings up the question whether or not time really exists here, enough to measure the years, that is.

Ahh, that's it? He will be happy to hear that. He has always been curious. And honestly, it looks like it would suit a ruler.

Of course it’s for you; you’re welcome. It was either that or makeup, and matching makeup shades would be harder.

…There’s no obligation to…

[OOC: She thinks he’d give her makeup-including facepowder- or something she wouldn’t be sure what to do with; getting it would make her feel obligated to use it/cause feelings of doing it wrong… Strikes=gone]

Hm… How about we go to get the sword I mentioned before, and I’ll pay what I can and you could, please, pay the difference if you really want to give me something? I have a bad feeling about letting it sit on the self too long, so I’d appreciate that a lot.

[OOC: The head would be creepy. o.o]

Amanda, thank you ever so much! The oranges were delicious and I love my plushie. He's sitting on my bed quite happily.

Your robes are beautiful, by the way!

You’re welcome; I’m glad you like them.

Thank you very much. It was hard to find one that fit on such short notice. Are you going to be going to any of the celebrations today?

I've been running around since this morning, looking at all the fireworks. I've been invited to a Frenchman-turned-Flamingo party tonight (which should be interesting). How about you? What other celebrations are there?

I’ll probably be inviting myself if I do, but I promised Musashi that I would make sure to have a good time since he still needs to rest off his injuries more so I might go to a party or at least gather up some friends to spend some time together.

I heard Zhang He was intending to arrange a celebration if his lord didn’t mind, and knowing Sun Ce, chances are he and Zhou Yu are going to have some sort of party.

Thanks, Amanda. Considering you don't even know me that well yet, it's appreciated, y'know? And the filters... that... would be very useful indeed.

Of course I couldn't use them all the time because he'd throw a tantrum and start killing to get my attention, but...

Have a good day, and especially have a good one because I can't move, m'kay?

You're welcome. I wasn't really sure what to get you, so I thought I'd offer something I thought you could use and hope for the best.

Thanks, I will do my best to. Hopefully you'll be on your feet in time for at least the fifteenth day of the new year; the lanterns my research says should be put out on that day would be quite the sight to see.

I'm glad you like it. I think there's birds in that one that weren't in the first one, too.
