The day had been a pretty normal one for Claire; she'd enrolled at the university, gone shopping, had dinner with Nathan, and stopped to pick up ice cream on her way back to the mansion. There was a half-gallon of cookies and cream in the brown paper bag she was carrying - which she nearly dropped when she walked into the lobby to see the receptionist speaking to a handsome blond man who was laying on his stomach on the floor.
His position didn't surprise her nearly as much as the blood on his face, all around his mouth, like...something she didn't want to think about. Claire knew that she should walk away, but she found herself walking toward him instead. The only way to know whether or not he was going to cause trouble was by talking to him, and she wanted to know how much they were in for.
She moved between the man and the desk, sending a curious look in the direction of the receptionist, who offered her a blank stare in response. Her gaze automatically fell back on the blond as he started to get up. "Are you okay?"
He wasn't. But at least Eric was more or less calm by the time he got to his feet. Keeping a level head while he tried to figure this out seemed intelligent. Finally, he was going to do what he was supposed to. And pretend it wasn't a little late for all that
( ... )
Any hope that he was a normal guy with dental problems disappeared the moment his teeth switched back to normal. Between that and the blood, Claire knew what he was. She didn't fully believe he was what he had pretty much confirmed himself to be, but her instincts told her not to ignore it. If he tried to hurt anyone, she was going to be the first person in line to stop him.
"This is El Dorado. We were all kidnapped, and now we're stuck here. Same as you," Claire replied, crossing her arms over her chest and tensing into a defensive stance. There was no reason to pretend she trusted him, so she definitely wasn't going to. "Go outside, you'll find that in some spots where there should be pavement, there's glass. It looks like we're in the sky."
So she was amusing, but she didn't sound like any less of a lunatic. Eric was still hesitant to indulge in any of this, for all he knew there really was something in that werewolf's blood. It would make a hell of a lot more sense than this this being real.
"... Fine." If he was being challenged to test the limits of this potential hallucination, or whatever this was -- for all he knew, he'd walk out there and Sophie-Anne would be waiting and cackling -- then he'd take it. And if this turned out to be real, Eric would identify his kidnappers and tear them limb from limb. And then he'd go home

Joanna was making her way through the lobby, on her way to the Greasy Stool. Okay, so she'd sort of made a job out of it. She was pretty good at it, as Kat had told her, and it's not like there was much to report on in the city. So, she served people booze. And she didn't even have to charge, really, because every day, when she returned to the Greasy Stool, the shelves were stocked, as if the liquor fairy had visited while she was away.
One minute, the lobby was basically empty, save for Joanna and the receptionist, the next, there was a giant blonde dude kneeling in the middle of the floor, red blossoming on the front of his shirt. Worry flared in her chest. One, she'd never seen someone just appear before. And two, well, bleeding chest wounds were nobody's friend.
"Oh, my god, are you okay?" Joanna gasped, hurrying across the lobby to stop beside him. "Well, obviously not okay because of the bleeding but will you be okay?" Joanna tried to fix her question but just seemed to mess it up more.
Why were humans always so prone to panic at the sight of blood?
"I'm fine, calm yourself." Eric looked down at the suddenly clink once he was upright, and saw the bullet that'd just fallen from his chest bounce slightly as it hit the floor. Good. It would close soon. "See?" He fully intended to find out what idiot had given Sookie a gun as soon as he killed whoever had brought him here and returned to Bon Temps.
He looked down at then new girl, fangs retracting as he turned his head. She seemed harmless enough, though he couldn't shake the suspicion there was something he should know. Eric pushed past it. There were more important things at hand.
"Now. Tell me how I came to be here, and where this is."
Blood belongs on the inside of the body, Eric. That's why.
"But the..." Joanna began. Her eyebrows arched when she heard the small clink of the bullet hitting the floor. She looked down and when she realized what it was, she took a step back, looking up at him.
So she could control men's minds with eye contact and Roxie had premonitions and Kat could, like, control the weather and heal and stuff. But to actually see a bullet fall out of someone's chest?
A little on the freaky side.
"This is El Dorado. Yeah, the golden city or whatever. We're floating hundreds, possibly thousands of miles above the Earth and you were brought here because the gods liked you," Joanna rambled then nodded once. "Aaaand that about covers it."
Golden city. Gods. Or at least beings who thought they were gods. That part felt nothing short of redundant. The golden city part, however, was quite new.
And Eric felt a migraine coming on.
He sighed, raising two fingers to the bridge of his nose and pinching it, keeping a firm grip on himself this time. It broke down to a kidnapping, one that meant he'd be unable to protect Sookie. Pam had her orders should anything go wrong, but it didn't make this any easier.
"Are there any tangible idiots to speak to on this subject, or am I dealing with ghosts here?" Eric had a sneaking suspicion he was going to be directed towards that emptily smiling Receptionist, and then he'd be fighting against the need to snap her neck.

Buffy was on her way down to the lobby, to head out the door to grab pizza at one of the little local shops. She was seriously having a major pizza craving; for some reason, the stuff was like a drug, and going too long without it sent her into weird withdrawals. Like drooling too much in her sleep. That was an embarrassment and a half.
What she sensed, and felt, and saw as she breezed past the reception desk, however... Both changed her appetite and changed her mind. The Slayer's eyes narrowed, and she moved to see more clearly. He looked... ferocious, like a wild beast, and he had blood all around his mouth. Immediately, and quite probably visibly, she tensed. Not only was this a vampire, but this was one who'd been feeding only moments ago. She figured it wasn't anyone here; the receptionist looked perfectly unharmed, and there were no bodies around to give evidence otherwise
( ... )
It was lucky, Eric supposed. He would have likely gotten into more detailed methods of interrogating the Receptionist in order to get more satisfying answers if this human hadn't showed. And it was also likely that he wouldn't have gotten those answers at all.
After all, he was standing there, and he knew he looked frightening to normal humans. But this woman, if she was in fact human at all, simply smiled at him as she explained his new set up. She gave him a room key and a cellphone. And she informed him to please, let her know if there was anything he needed.
Yes, it was probably lucky. But it didn't make this girl's presentation any less irritating.
"If that was an attempt at wit, human," Eric bared his fangs more out of annoyance than anything else. "I suggest you keep working at it. If it's an offer to replace what was lost, however, then I absolutely accept."
It hadn't been about food before, but looking at her now, he supposed he could change his mind. Then he'd work on getting back to Bon Temps, where he should be.
Buffy actually snorted. "It wasn't an attempt, vampire," she spat back, the slightest twitch of a determined smirk on her lips. "And if you come anywhere near me with your fangs, I'll dust you. So let's just not do that. Any while you're at it? You might want to stop playing with potential food. And you've got a blood mustache."
Her nose wrinkled. "As a matter of fact, just don't eat anyone here. Or you'll have to deal with me."
He'd changed his mind about eating. This one, Eric didn't want a taste of. He lifted an eyebrow slowly, and with that lift, his fangs followed and disappeared back into his mouth. Clearly, this human thought she cut a highly fearsome figure

Having been assigned a room, Cordelia had decided it was time to visit this place - afterall she had been 'chosen' for it. She was trying to remain positve and not think of it as being kidnapped by a bunch of pyscho losers. It wasn't really working, but she was trying.
Stepping out into the lobby, her gaze flickered over the occupants of the room. She froze in her place seeing a man who had blood covering the lower half of his face, and then... She saw the fangs.
Oh this was just great. A creepy blood covered vampire. Perfect. Her nose wrinkled and she walked a little in his direction, but made sure to keep her distance. "Ew, you mister, have some seriously bad table manners."
Eric looked back over his shoulder, lifting an eyebrow slowly at the disgusted woman standing there. Just disgusted. Not afraid. He sighed. That was the problem with vampires putting themselves out there in the human world. In some cases, you couldn't always drum up that instant onset of fear like you used to.
"Hilarious." He replied acidly as he got to his feet, looking around the lobby again. This was wrong. No one should have been able to sneak up on him like this. Not that quickly. He looked at the Receptionist, who was smiling at them both now, just as calmly as she had when he'd first arrived.
He didn't like her. So Eric turned to the human, looking her over from head to toe. She wasn't a threat. She didn't appear to be involved. Speaking to her would be preferable for the time being. He paused, then retracted his fangs.
Cordelia's nose was still wrinkled as she stared at the vampire. Couldn't she go anywhere without running into one of them? Obviously not, thank you Powers That Be. She was obviously still thinking they had something to do with her being in El Dorado.
Crossing her arms, one eyebrow arched and she shook her head. "Oh really? So you're done with the whole 'Grrrrrrr I'm a Vampire' thing?" she asked, hoping that he was because really? She didn't want to have to find a stake. "To answer your question though, I'm told this is El Dorado. Not that I believe it, but that's what I've been told."
Eric distantly wondered if Pam would want to keep this one to play with if they ever met, or just kill her. He decided, after another once over, that she'd likely opt for play. It made it a little depressing she wasn't here. It'd probably be amusing to watch.
"I'll be through with that when you decide you're through with the sarcasm, human." He rolled his eyes at her, looking around the lobby. "Where I was a moment ago made that behavior... Necessary." More than that. At least, to his mind.
He blinked over her answer, and didn't seem to mind looking at her like she was an idiot. "El Dorado." He repeated. "And what else have you been told?"

That would likely be counterproductive.
