New Year's was fun. I took my fiddle down to the subway and played until I couldn't move my fingers anymore. It was really kind of cool, watching how these modern be-suited people responded to 17th century gypsy music. There are few things more fun than turning people's expectations on their heads. Well, let's clarify that that was HIGHLY unusual, and mostly due to 1) it was New Years' Eve and the foot traffic was unbelievably thick, and 2) about half of it came from one group of apparently rich, flamboyant men who I think may have been hoping I was for sale.

They reminded me a bit of those Roman guys who'd hang out at the orgy places. I seriously expected them to break out wreaths of grape leaves.
