I was a little less than impressed with the list. Granted, I'm pretty partial to DC over Marvel (and I don't really read manga), but I thought their placements of DC characters (aside from the #1 position) a little...off. Batman ranked so far down on the list? Connor made the list, but no Tim? What about Aquaman (the biceps alone!)? And re-boot Roy does nothing for me at all (much prefer pre-boot, pre-arm-being-ripped-off Roy!).

But I liked where Remy was placed (always had a thing for that Cajun!), and the few other Marvel heroes I was familiar with worked for me (although Nightcrawler made the list and the Cap didn't? How did THAT happen?).

The best thing about the list was that it inspired this: 20 Sexiest Nightwing Covers . Although how one does a thing on Nightwing and doesn't have a least one picture of "dat ass", I'll never know...

I was actually looking for Tim most of the time. Because, it was such an obvious choice.

In my head, there is only pre-boot, pre-arm-being-ripped-of Roy. That is my Roy! ♥ ♥

Nightcrawler has a HUGE fanbase, so I don't begrudge him the spot. And he has the personality to make it work. But really, Cap should be there. (I've read very little Remy. I really need to brush up on my Marvel.)

*clicks off to the NIghtwing Covers, because YES!*

Yeah, the re-boot Roy just doesn't have the same...appeal, personality, something that pre-boot Roy had. Maybe it's the missing Lian, and all the growth and responsibility that came with. Maybe it's that I don't really see him as continually overcoming his addiction and abandonment issues, and persevering, like pre-boot tended to show him. Or maybe it's the lack of connection with the (Teen) Titans that really helped from so much of his character. I tried to read his book, and I just got turned off by what they were doing with him and how he was being portrayed. I picked it back up in the DotF cross-over, and yeah, didn't do much to change my opinion. :o ( ... )

Without Lisa, his only defining traits seem to be his addiction and his abandonment issues and it seems like a lot of modern writers tend to retrace defining characteristics rather than coming up with new ones. (Lian was deeply tied into his journey to find himself and every story after that was so defined by her that going earlier than that is basically reaching back to adolescence.) I don't mind acknowledgment that addicts are always addicts, but at the same time, Tony Stark isn't ALWAYS talking about being an alcoholic. He has other stuff going on ( ... )

It's kind of weird they used fanart for these?

Anyway, I obviously don't know most of these characters, but the top two seem like excellent choices. :)

Huh, I guess they did? (L was fanart, wasn't it?) But most of them seemed to be official art.

They certainly chose really good pics for the top two, didn't they? Although I'm not very familiar with Marvel Boy.

Yeah, I'm mostly judging by the L picture, but some of them just seem like fanart.

So the picture for no. 1 is from the comic? I actually thought it was fanart, too, because he didn't look quite as good in the top 20 covers list.

Ha, you're right! The Nightwing pic is (probably) fanart!

I thought it was a commission from a comic book artist, which is that blurry line between fanart and professional art. (Like check out some Nightwing commissions here...)

Cap, Clark, and Tim are total boyscouts, they wouldn't make this list. Batman barely made it.

But boyscouts can be attractive! I mean, we might have to define "sexy" here, but they certainly beat some of the other choices.

We do have to define sexy. Ever see that King of the Hill where the women discuss the hottest men? Hank is at the bottom of the list because despite being a good man, he's just not sexy. Clark is too good-natured farmboy, Tim is too bookish, etc. Cute, handsome, whatever you want to call them, but not sexy.

Investigative!Reporter!Clark is TOTALLY sexy. He's won awards! I find Superman less sexy, actually. And Tim is clearly built for a bookish kid. (I remember when I was the same age as Tim. I would have totally dated him. Now I guess I'm closer to Dick. Soon I'll pass never-aging-Bruce. Ha!)

I don't know, there's also the "I find this very attractive" and I guess the "this is objectively sexy?" But I don't like the nice guys aren't sexy stereotype. I find mature guys who can take care of children very attractive.*shrug*
