I saw Dune on Tuesday (with friends, and then we went to pizza afterwards, yay normalcy!). I enjoyed it, and I was definitely glad I saw it big screen. I unfortunately saw Dune on my TV via HBO Max the other day. Did seem like the lead up to a bigger story. I may re-watch because during the day I get some glare on my TV, and dark scenes are really hard to see. There were a lot of dark scenes in the movie so many times I couldn't see what was happening; nice viewing will definitely be in the evening :-)

Yes, I have trouble sometimes with dark scenes on my tv too. I’ve given up on tv shows because the visual style is too hard to watch.

I’m glad you mentioned what tv viewing was like. My niece wants to see it, but she’s 12, and it’s slow enough I was thinking maybe we’d watch at home so we can stop if she’s bored…. Though she is 12 and her eyes are young and maybe the darkness won’t be difficult for her…. I’ll have to talk to my sis and see what she thinks.

I'm both blessed and cursed with south facing windows in both my bedroom and living room. So movies are shows that are dark like that are better viewed in the evening. I don't mind watching on the tv, just glad most everything is available on demand these days, so I can watch the right show at the optimum time:)
