I've actually never been to an alum event, much less on the other side of the country from where I am. That's why I wonder what the crowd will be like - whereas similar events I attended in DC were people my age or a little older, in SF it's a crowd of retirement age.

we're actually meeting the mayor tomorrow -- will be complaining about their approval process.
