Dude! Report them to the WSIB, or, if that's not the right agency, ask them who is... They made you work for 2 hrs WITH A CONCUSSION. They told you to come in to work WITH A CONCUSSION. If you needed to help someone, you might have passed out, drowned, and caused the other person's death too. That is completely fucked up. Same for working with laryngitis. You are absolutely correct in seeing it as a safety issue, and the company could be legally liable. I don't know whether threatning you with being fired and denying you a raise is something that's technically illegal, find out; but even if it's not, they're still assholes.
When I had pneumonia last month, my only external symptom was that I was weak and sleepy. My office was moving, there was a project I was supposed to be overseeing, they needed my help desperately, and my doctor's note had ran out after two weeks. My boss ordered me not to come in so I wouldn't overexert myself or inhale dust from the moving boxes! That's what a good supervisor does. Sheesh I am mad on your behalf

thanks Orbis. It sounds (so far) like the company is going to be tame about this. But that was only my supervisor leaving the message. the owner and shit distuber (the one who wouldn't give me the raise). so we'll see.
