Watching Back to the Future Part 3, something occured to me. The fuel line of the DeLorean is punctured by an arrow when Marty goes back to 1885. This is the central macguffin of the film, as there won't be replacement gas until 190something. Probably, but that also means the DeLorean when Marty is in 1965 would be down that much gas.

This is true, but I doubt the DeLorean of 1955 would have trouble running on the gas of the time.

That really depends... when was Leaded gasoline phased out?

Leaded gasoline doesn't work on cars with catalytic converters, which according to wikipedia, was virtually all new cars created on or after 1975.

The DeLorean came out in 1976.
