A few thoughts on Independence Day here in the US

My husband and I did yard work this morning, enjoying our own home and togetherness protected by the law under a special marriage license for those of our religion, one which was outlawed and persecuted in colonial days. We take advantage of our rights to call for those same protections for same-sex couples

Nicely said, Beth. *round of applause* I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on what is different now compared to years ago, yet some people still do not understand how lucky we are to be as free as we are, and especially how lucky we are that we can vote and speak our minds and walk down the street without expecting to be harassed. Well.. I suppose that can depend on where you live in this country, but most of the time we can expect to not be harassed
