Hey there, mom sent me this account. It is kind of cool. I just opened a myspace to post photos. I hope all is well with you. I will give you a call this week. buffy
I actually saw it just last night, 2nd row fifth from center. It was truly awesome.
I've had the soundtrack for about a little over a year now so I knew all the lines in the songs, but the Bad Decision Bears were a surprise, and they were hysterical!
The touring company cut out the bridge in "Schadenfreude" but other than that they stayed pretty true to the Soundtrack, and the voices for the cast were pretty close to the Original Cast (with the exception of Gary Coleman, she wasn't as good, IMO). No surprise, the sound of things are important to me.
Part of the real fun was hearing all the people around me who'd come to see the show who didn't know the songs so they were guffawing when Muppets were swearing.
I got to see Avenue Q in NYC last year, and nearly broke a rib laughing so hard. I love the disclaimer in the lobby "We have nothing whatsoever to do with Jim Henson."
We stuck around to chat with some of the cast afterwards. They said one of the most difficult things was to get the live actors to remember to interact with the puppet, rather than the puppeteer behind them (growing up with my sister, I never though of that being tough, but we're special). But they certainly did an amazing job. I wanna go back! Any chance the tour will get to Chicago?
