Well, food costs lots of oil to get to us. If it's not in season, and doesn't come from round here, then it was trucked in or flown in from a ways away. A lot of grocery stores have been pushing Chilean fruit, but think of all the miles that travels from Chile to your home. I mean, its one thing to carpool with a friend somewhere, and save a 40 minute round trip of gas, but when you figure it down, the food you eat has a massive footprint
