Okay, I'm gonna say that that alligator is sedated or dead or stuffed....anything but actually alive and well, and was just there for a photo op. Otherwise, my comment would be OMG, what were you guys thinking?

I'm guessing dead (or so sedated that it's the next thing to dead). It's rear foot never moves, and a live gator, even sedated, would try to get some traction if someone was wrestling with it.

Aren't they unable to harm animals during the production of a film?

As a native Floridian, seeing him alligator "wrestling" is pretty cool.

Normally, yes. Even if there weren't an industry rule, the PR would be disastrous - theater boycotts, etc.

But I believe gator hunting is normal in Louisiana. We know there's a hunting scene in the movie. Maybe there's an exception if you are using a pre-deceased animal. There were real dead sharks used in Jaws, for example.

geezezy creezey I'm scared of crocagators.

That being said, I like Zac shushing the gator. Totally cracked me up! And I also think he's very brave, I doubt I'd ever get that close to a gator, 'course I don't choose to get close to bears and mountain lions either. Stuff happens.

i told my sister she has to watch out for alligators. apparently they exist in neighborhoods around houston :(

true story: i saw a crocodile sneeze once. we were in queensland. i was 12. the end.

I'm so never going to Houston. I'm staying as far from alligators or crocodiles as possible.
