Descendants of Boom

The weight of the world is too heavy to rest upon mismatched, uneven pillars of self. We're not strong enough to bear that burden for long without stress cracks from the weight and constant motion of the societal superstructure we support. Raise therefore your children in an image other than your own, for we are all flawed. Increase their ( Read more... )

This post is nothing but rhetoric: many words that when put together mean nothing. You take no position by arguing both positions, stroking your pride and ego attempting to make yourself sound like the smartest guy in the room. I'll remind you that the loudest one in the room is the most insecure in the room.

Furthermore, I have to disagree with the Pajamas Media link you posted when the author says

The board’s right-wing faction removed references to “democratic” (or “representative democracy”) when discussing the U.S. form of government. The board’s majority Republicans changed those references to “constitutional republic.” Board member Cynthia Dunbar also won approval for changing references to “democratic societies” to “societies with representative government.” (3/11/10)
This is a bit of transparent partisan bickering on both sides, each wanting to use the lower-case version of their favored political party’s names (democratic/republican) to describe our form of government. The board’s argument, however, is just as valid as that ( ... )

This entry was, purposely written not to be vague, but subtle. It had very little to do with politics, but in your assumption, you've become the very thing I despise, and proved my point.

Words do mean things sir, and you should study up on them. As always, thank you for your comment.

Off-the-cuff and without any context, but assuming you're still talking politics (and after recently re-watching that video you posted) I'd have to answer, "Law."

And you know how I feel about marketing :/

Vote and vote often. Even if there's a hair of a difference pick the direction that leans closest to your ideals.

Overall I'd like less pushing and more thinking. But that's just me being idealistic.

Interestingly enough, these ideas were discussed in my house last night.

People often mistake dogma, partisanship, and an unwillingness to compromise for principle; people often mistake degrading others as uplifting themselves; the people who often scream the loudest about their patriotism are those who know the least about the Constitution.

I would've LOVED to have been a part of that conversation - what fun!
