On Bowditch

In my latest little story thing I gave Horatio a copy of Bowditch. This is roughly just possible, although I am not sure when he made it to England. My excuse was this-- if it had been possible Horatio would have revelled in it

How fascinating! I wondered who Bowditch was :} It definitely sounds like he and Horatio were kindred spirits!

What a character - never came across him. There are Bowditchs in our village, though!

It looks from the census that in the 19th century most Bowditch families were from the Devon,Dorset,Somerset area = so its natural some would spill over into neighbouring counties :)
