The Lolita-Community may be not such a close community like your definition, but I think it can be called a community nonetheless. Because for example if you travel to another city or even another country, you can always ask if some local Lolitas wants to meet up with you, and you nearly always find some Lolitas who are willing to. And if something really bad happens to another Lolita, I'm sure that other local Lolitas would help out

I'm not super involved in my own community due to inconvenience in getting to meetups since I don't have a license, so it's purely my own fault. Whenever I'm there everyone is really welcoming and encouraging. I'd say, though, that kinship doesn't go far beyond lolita

I've been into lolita for awhile, but i've never done a meet-up. I want to, but i'm very shy. i hope a lolita community could be a real community, but somehow I believe it would be hard to get beyond fashion unless something changes to lolitas were they want their subculture to be more that superficial I doubt it'll ever be a real community.
I guess I've always viewed lolita communities more as a club. Something you join because you all share a particular interest. But I've never been to any of my semi-local communities meet-ups so maybe that's part of it. I think it would be funny to call them parties, like a political party but in our case tea parties? I guess if there were some sort of disaster then having a community is great, however I think it would be better to rely on our broader community rather than a niche community who only really knows one side of you.
I've actually seen a few instances over the years where a Lolita has been in trouble or died and the Lolita community, including Lolita who never even knew the person, raised money or sent flowers or sent words of encouragement. While all of our local Lolita communities are different, I would like to think that many of us really do care about each other and want to help each other out. With the exception of one I've known since elementary school who I got into Lolita with, I have made all of my best friends through Lolita fashion. I care a lot about my local Lolita community and the online community.
