Oh, I just posted the exact same thing to luckypacks ! I probably won't buy it because of Bodyline's reputation and the quality of some pieces. I am actually terrified of getting an LP full of Santa costumes and raschel lace separates.
Oh, I haven't subscribed to that comm yet. Lucky Packs are not something I pay particular attention to, I just chanced on this because I went to BL to check if they had any princess-sleeved blouses. I guess this is an accidental repost... :]
I think if I got a Santa costume in a pack, it would hardly matter what else was in the bag, I'd go crazy...
They did this last year too (or the year before?).
I really, strongly advise against it! This is going to be bodyline's clearance items; as in, the stuff people don't want from bodyline. I'm guess they will fill them with sexy costumes, bad accessories, weird colored wigs..
Also, the 1.8kg could just be an approximate weight so people can guess at shipping costs?
The announcement said that it was their first time to do this for the international site. I am pretty new to Loli fashion as well, so no prior knowledge about LPs, Bodyline or otherwise.
I also thought that they'd probably put crap in there. While I do like the OP I bought, most of BL's (real) lolita stock is sweet anyway, so there's even less of a chance that I'd end up with anything I'd like.
And come to think of it, I remember seeing feather boas and sparkly hats on the lolita floor... XD
Hmmm.. I don't know, but I have a 98 cm bust and 88 cm waist, so not every bodyline outfit will fit me. I don't think I'll participate in this sale since the site says, " sometime maybe you will fail for size, color." I don't want to spend money on something just to receive the wrong size. I think they should at least let us give them our sizes so they can put the right things in our pack. I don't think they'll be using a bunch of Santa outfits, but I definitely doubt they'll be sending their best items. I'm guessing there will be one thing from the Lolita, cosplay, and punk categories. If everything goes well for the Lolitas who participate this year, I'll participate in their next lucky pack event.
I'm not sure if it's written as a 'Lucky Pack 101' for beginners, or as a warning that what you get might not be satisfactory. If they do put in items from those 3 categories- well, the sailor blouses from their seifuku costumes might not be too bad... but something like this would be horrible XD
Not sure how they're going to do it. Typically, people email brands for LPs so they can indicate their preferences, right? But BL seems to have no contact info up as of now.
IW rarely lets you pick blouse size and Meta rarely lets you pick "light" or "dark", but usually I don't think you get any input on what you get for LPs? Unless there are other brands that are more lenient that I'm not aware of?
Ooh. It's a shame that we can't pick the size, I thought brands might be more lenient. Waist ties and corset lacing can only go so far... so that's another 'negative' point there. And from what I remember, a lot of BL items don't have shirring.
I am not planning to buy their LP because of the high chance of weird items. I would prefer to see what will be inside like some brands do it with their LPs.
> sometime maybe you will fail for size, color. > in this cases. customers will exchange their contents > to their friends. > So after happy bag sale, there are a big exchange > deal between customers. I am wondering why they wrote this. I mean, it was never forbitten to resell bodyline items and trading is not limited to friends :) If this was written by a lolita brand, I would have hopes that they would host an event in Tokyo where their custoners could meet and trade. But I cannot imagine that bodyline might do such a thing...
So let's wait until the LPs appear in the webshop, then we will see :)
They are talking about what happens outside the shops, I think? Like, I think it's common for people to buy lucky packs and then trade items with their friends outside the shops IRL? Someone who actually has been in Japan at LP time will have to expand on this, but I've heard of, and seen video of, girls sitting on the sidewalk outside a shop and trading their LP things they didn't like after buying big LPs from a few shops?
Now that you mention it, I remember seeing pictures of girls trading their items on the sidewalk. So this is what bodyline might refer to, now the phrase makes a lot more sense to me :) Thank you very much for clarifying!
Yes, my friend Seiko has told me about doing this many times. You sit around outside the shop and call out "Exchange" if you have stuff you want to trade with other people. So it's actually a really great thing if you're there outside of the shop--unless you get something that absolutely nobody wants!
I imagine Bodyline are going to send people bags full of lace monsters and tacky-looking Santa costumes. I also think Bodyline has a really wide range of sizes, which is awesome, but I reckon they'll just shove everything in the same bag and people will get stuff ranging from size S to size 2L in the same pack, which will make no sense.
I will not bother getting a Bodyline lucky pack. I'll just buy stuff from them normally, then I get clothes I like in the right size and colour.
According to rainedragon's link here, you could even get... furry handcuffs!
If they were to put out organized packs, like a set with a dress, basic blouses and stuff, I would probably take a chance with the sizing. The reviews on their basic stuff seem pretty positive.
I hope they have a proper new years sale as well as a lucky pack, because there are shoes and dresses that I want to buy.
There also seems to be a video of someone snowboarding or something next to the announcement, but my internet connection is terrible so it's stuck on buffering. Why is there a video? What does it have to do with anything?
Bodyline hops on the LP bandwagon. Mr. Yan hops on a snowboard
Sounds legit! I agree with you about that sale. Some of their better items are a tiny bit overpriced for the quality - but if there was a sale, that'd be the perfect time to shop ~

I mean, there is an opening post here: http://egl.livejournal.com/16821664.html from 2011?
::edit::
Nope, they were on the international site in Jan 2011, per this forum post where people were debating getting one: http://www.myasianfashion.com/forums/display_topic/id_3380/Lucky-bags-from-Bodyline/

Thank you for the link! I wonder why they had to mention that it was their 'first time' though...
