I would imagine that they have a program set up to do the work for them, honestly, rather than relying on a person to make the bid at the last moment. But I don't know for sure so I can't promise that.
Yeah, they must use a program because I've had them snipe bid for me long after their office is closed. They probably wouldn't offer the snipe bid option if they couldn't do it all the time.
You're right :). Is their snipe bid system effective at least ? I don't trust computers and programs when it comes to auctions (had some bad experiences about that in the past myself). On their website, it says that they snipe bid in the last 10mn, but let's say their program bids 6mn before the end of the auction, and a japanese dude, behind his screen, bids 2mn before the end, he'd win right ? Isn't it a bit risky ?
As far as I know Japonica Market does not offer snipe bids at mbok auctions. I used them last weekend and read on their website that snipe bids on mbok are not possible. I think the reasons were sellers who check the bidders feedback and sellers often close the auctions some hours before it ends and JM's snipe bid system wouldn't work that way.
That's sorry to hear ^^" I was overbid too and Japonica Market refunded me the very next day. As far as I have experienced them they are really professional. :)
FYI, Y!J has an option (that most sellers use) where if anyone bids in the last 5 minutes of the auction, the auction end time is automatically extended by another 5 minutes. This means even with their snipe bidding program, JM can only bid at the 6 minute mark (and they do use an auto-bid program for this). There is no way to snipe bid at the very last second because the auction would just auto-extend. This applies to all bidders, automated program or person sitting there clicking manually. This is because Japanese sellers don't like snipers, so having an auto-extension solves this issue and makes it more "fair" amongst bidders.
Thank you for explaining this ! I indeed noticed that the auction was extended of 5mn more during mine, but I thought it was the seller who, noticing that his auction was attracting a lot of people, decided to extend his auction in order to make more monies x).
