I would imagine that they have a program set up to do the work for them, honestly, rather than relying on a person to make the bid at the last moment. But I don't know for sure so I can't promise that.

Yeah, they must use a program because I've had them snipe bid for me long after their office is closed. They probably wouldn't offer the snipe bid option if they couldn't do it all the time.

You're right :). Is their snipe bid system effective at least ? I don't trust computers and programs when it comes to auctions (had some bad experiences about that in the past myself).
On their website, it says that they snipe bid in the last 10mn, but let's say their program bids 6mn before the end of the auction, and a japanese dude, behind his screen, bids 2mn before the end, he'd win right ? Isn't it a bit risky ?

I haven't used them heaps of times and I often use Mbok, but the 5 or so times I've had them snipe bid on YA they always did it in the last 10 minutes (at exactly 10 minutes remaining) like they say they do. Yes, but only if their bid is higher than your max bid they would win. That's why I always enter a max bid higher than the current bid price if it's an item I really want. Good luck!

Thank you for your answers ! Awww, I'm kinda worried now... But I'll stalk the ten last minutes, if I see someone outbidding me, I'll outbid them with buyee. There are quite a lot of people who already bid, so it's likely there will be a battle to win this item xD. So, I'm gonna give my all to win o/ !

EDIT : Lol, I just came to check the situation of the bids, they've went crazy, I won't be able to follow...

Please keep in mind that most Japanese sellers don't accept snipes. I am a Mbok user (I live in Japan and speak Japanese fluently) and 9/10 either on the auction itself or on the person's profile it will say "I want to read your reviews so your first bid MUST be 1 hour before the end of the auction). Sometimes they will also say "NO sniping, I reserve the right to delete bids" along with that. Either way many people will simply delete snipe bids. It's honestly safer to just select the absolute HIGHEST you are willing to pay for an item and then have the service make that your "high bid", that way you have no regrets. Sniping in Japan is just really frowned upon. Not by everybody but by enough people not to risk it unless you are sure the person isn't against it.

My auction was on Yahoo Auctions, so the system is a bit different as amy_the_yu explained, but thanks for telling me about Mbok system ! It'll definitely be useful for a next time ! This system is really complicated... I mean, why would a seller dislike snipe bid ? It gives them a chance to sell their item at a higher price at the last minute, it's more profit for them, isn't it ?
